Conservative House Leader, Barry Petten says “Unfortunately, the committee process has turned out to be a complete waste of time because the Furey Liberals have shown zero commitment to democratic reform.”

The PC Caucus has announced their withdrawal from the Liberals all-party committee on election reform, citing the Liberal’s apparent lack of commitment to the crucial cause.  Conservative House Leader, Barry Petten says “Unfortunately, the committee process has turned out to be a complete waste of time because the Furey Liberals have shown zero commitment to democratic reform.” Petten says just three years ago we were in the middle of one of the most chaotic elections in our history and that’s why the committee was formed.  He says the Liberals want to shut down watchdogs of accountability and keep as much power and leverage in their own hands as possible.”
