There’s plenty of construction and renovation taking place in Corner Brook.
CORRECTION: The project at 12 Tippings Drive is not a laundry facility, as indicated by the City of Corner Brook. It is going to be a storage warehouse for Western Health. Sorry for the confusion.
The new Robin’s is near completion, the exterior shell is up at a new Helicopter repair garage on Lundrigan Drive, and a new Western Health storage facility is in the works for Tippings Drive. Construction is expected this year on a new self-storage building on O’Connell Drive and expansion at Mount Patricia Cemetery has been approved. Add to this, there are a number of buildings being turned into apartment units.
Mayor Jim Parsons says the market is responding with a multi level apartment building at the former Western Star, Presentation is being converted into apartments, and one of the Herald Towers will be apartments. Other sites for apartments include a 6 unit apartment building on Humber Road, and an 8 unit building on Dove’s Road. Mayor Parsons says completion dates are unknown at this time.
Construction projects were updated at last night’s council meeting.
