Cst James Cadigan says the weeklong campaign is intended to raise awareness focusing on behaviours that put road users most at risk, including impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and driving without a seatbelt.
This is Canada Road Safety Week and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary intends to target motorists who choose to engage in high-risk driving. Cst James Cadigan says the weeklong campaign is intended to raise awareness focusing on behaviours that put road users most at risk, including impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and driving without a seatbelt.
Cadigan says throughout the week, they’ll be working with the RCMP, Highway Enforcement and community partners to take action so motorists can expect checkpoints. This year’s theme is , ‘Road Safety - Every Road. Every Day. Everyone.’
