World Energy GH2 acquired the port this week.
World Energy GH2 has bought the Port of Stephenville. The port is a crucial piece of infrastructure as World Energy GH2 works to advance green energy projects. In a news release, the company states “in order to fulfill the August 23rd Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance signed in Stephenville, the Nujio-qonik (new-geo-ho-neek) project aims to produce green hydrogen in 2025. CEO and Managing Director Sean Leet, says “The Port of Stephenville is a cornerstone of our project and will position the Bay. St. George area as a green energy hub.” He says “In just the last few weeks, several key pieces have come together, including the partnership with SK Ecoplant, marking the first overseas investment in a Canadian green energy project.”
