Government has launched a new awareness campaign designed to encourage people to buy products that are made in this province. Premier Andrew Furey announced the new Buy From Newfoundland and Labrador logo yesterday. He says with the threat of looming tariffs being imposed on Canadian goods, it’s the right time to be purely focused on buying these products. People will see messages across various media, as well as promotional materials designed to show support for local manufacturers and retailers beginning this week. Some images and display items will be available for download from the Government website in the coming days.

Meanwhile, on Monday the Premier announced NLC stores would be removing American booze from the shelves, but once President Trump paused tariffs for a month, stock went back on the shelves yesterday. Furey says he didn’t want to make a whiplash decision. He says “The time is now, to stand shoulder-to-shoulder, and support one another. Let’s bring the heart of our communities into our home.”
