Enviro Watch NL Co-Chair Tara Manuel says World Energy GH2 has plans to build more than 300 wind turbines along the southwest coast
Enviro Watch NL thinks wind-energy projects along the Port au Port Peninsula and the Codroy Valley areas are too big and moving too fast. Co-Chair Tara Manuel says World Energy GH2 has plans to build more than 300 wind turbines along the southwest coast. Today is the deadline for public comment on an Environmental Impact Statement, which Manuel says is thousands of pages long. She says there is no way anyone could have read the document in the last month and half to be able to provide a comment. Manuel says plans include the construction of a hydrogen ammonia plant that will have ten times the production capacity from 2 wind farms. She says there are too many unanswered questions. Enviro Watch NL will host a public online forum this evening from 7:30-9pm and will be broadcast on Zoom and Facebook.
