The driver was transported to the Dr. Charles Legrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques where a blood sample was obtained.

RCMP Traffic Services West pulled a woman over in Doyles on Saturday and found a weapon, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Cpl Jolene Garland says the traffic stop took place at 1:45 in the morning and the 44 year woman showed signs of drug impairment.  She failed a roadside sobriety test, resisted arrest and was arrested for impaired driving. A quantity of suspected cocaine, a prohibited weapon and drug trafficking paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.  The driver was transported to the Dr. Charles Legrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques where a blood sample was obtained. Garland says the investigation is continuing to determine if charges of impaired driving are appropriate. The woman was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to face charges. Her vehicle was seized and impounded.
