Cst. Cadigan says suspects seem to target senior citizens.

RNC say the latest scam to hit the province could affect anyone. Yesterday, police warned people to be on the lookout for a scam that involves fake agreements to complete property maintenance projects. Cst. James Cadigan says they are investigating several reports from the Northeast Avalon area but these scams could hit the west coast. He says last year police received similar reports from the Corner Brook area, Cst. Cadigan says suspects seem to target senior citizens. He says it’s important to always ask for references and check them. Cst. Cadigan says the scammer gets the money but doesn’t come back to do the work.
