Upwards of 200 school kids are headed to the Corner Brook Civic Centre tomorrow to celebrate the 2024 Agriculture Expo which takes place from Friday to Sunday. Expo Coordinator Krista Wright says the students are involved in the Agriculture in the Classroom program. There are 18 different agriculture education stations and 13 farmers markets will move in during the afternoon which leads into family night. Wright says another new feature this year involves extracting honey from beehives. Sara Power is the Public Trust Manager and says this is one of the NL Federation of Agriculture’s biggest events that teaches awareness and offers a chance to meet with local farmers. The Agriculture Expo will feature Moonica the milking cow, an underground worm adventure tent, an animal farm, and incubators with eggs hatching and plenty of local produce.
