Season dates for both local community resident and public/commercial snowmobile permit holders are in effect and are scheduled to end May 15th and April 30th.
Snowmobiling has opened in Gros Morne National Park. Season dates for both local community resident and public/commercial snowmobile permit holders are in effect and are scheduled to end May 15th and April 30th. Snowmobiling season dates are subject to change at the discretion of Parks Canada due to factors such as unfavourable snow conditions, dangerous conditions, or impact to ecosystems. Parks Canada would like to remind all users to expect variable weather and snow conditions. Bogs and barrens can have reduced snow cover due to changing weather conditions. When travelling over those areas, remain on commonly used routes to avoid damaging vegetation and terrain. Be mindful of avalanche hazards, especially during periods of rapid accumulation of fresh or wind driven snow on leeward slopes. Please take precautions before going out onto ice covered ponds or rivers and be prepared for unusual, thin, and potentially dangerous ice conditions.
