Carl Dymond is ready to fly in on closing day
While Carl Dymond waits for the keys to the former Stephenville Airport he is spending time developing plans for the facility. It’s been nearly 2 years since the sale of the bankrupt infrastructure started. The new name is the Stephenville Dymond International Airport. Dymond says a bankruptcy debt has been paid off and they are ready to start. He says he’ll be flying into Stephenville on the closing date and lawyers are tying up loose ends. Dymond says they plan on building a new terminal that is accessible by anybody and they will be looking to add flights. Dymond says over the past couple of weeks residents have noticed an increase in air traffic. He says it’s a hard sale without an actual deed in hand and airlines are ready to negotiate.
