Government is reminding motorists that it’s a good idea to get winter tires installed before snow and ice begin to affect road and driving conditions. Studded tires will be permitted on the province’s roadways as of this Saturday, November 1st. Meanwhile, motorists are encouraged to drive safely and use caution throughout the winter by slowing down and driving according to weather conditions. Give yourself extra time to get to your destination and pay attention to travel advisories. Remove all snow from your vehicle’s roof, hood, windows and lights and ensure brakes, wipers and lights are all working properly. Stay at least 50 metres behind snowplows.
