Taxes are due today at Corner Brook city hall. This includes residential and business taxes. Due to the leap year, residents were given an extra day to catch up on amounts owing. Mayor Jim Parsons tells Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit, taxes are a good thing which help pay for things like garbage collection and snow clearing. He says municipal taxes are actually the lowest tax a person pays and equates to about 6 percent of a tax burden. Those having issues with making payments on time are encouraged to contact city hall and make arrangements.
