A parade of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment will leave the barracks on O’Connell Drive at approximately 10:00 a.m., proceed along O’Connell Drive to West Valley Road and then North onto West Valley Road to the Majestic Lawn. There, they will meet up with Veterans and invited guests to proceed down West Street at approximately 10:30 a.m., arriving at the Cenotaph in Remembrance Square.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 is expecting tomorrow to be the biggest Remembrance Day ever in Corner Brook. Legionnaire Robert Murphy says they have a lot of guests attending. “This includes both the 1st and 2nd Royal Newfoundland Regiment, the Regimental Band, Mounted units of the RNC and RCMP, Rangers, cadet Corps and Legionnaires.”
Murphy says it’s been awhile since the Regimental Band has been here. “This will be one of the biggest, if not the biggest Remembrance Day that Corner Brook has ever seen,” he says. “The Regimental Band hasn’t been here for 8 years.”

Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says it’s important to get out and take part. “It’s great to see young families and their children starting a tradition by attending,” he says. “This Remembrance Day will be so much bigger.”
Following tomorrow’s ceremony, Main Street, Park Street and Chestnut Street will be closed temporarily. All roads are expected to be open again by 12:00 p.m.
