Time to apply for the 2024 Community Garden Support Program

    Government is investing over $132,000 into non-repayable grants to help increase food self-sufficiency, access to fresh foods, consumption of fruits and vegetables, and awareness and appreciation of the importance of local food production and the agriculture sector.

    Applications for the 2024 Community Garden Support Program are available to help eligible municipalities, schools and community groups establish and enhance new and existing community gardens. There is no deadline to apply, but applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Government is investing over $132,000 into non-repayable grants to help increase food self-sufficiency, access to fresh foods, consumption of fruits and vegetables, and awareness and appreciation of the importance of local food production and the agriculture sector. Since 2019, the Community Garden Support Program has supported more than 680 projects, with thousands of people working together to establish and grow community gardens throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.  For more information on the program call 709-637-2474 The 2024 application and program guide are available on the Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture website.
