Two men dead after weekend incidents on the Trans Canada Highway in NL

    Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP responded to the single vehicle crash and Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says despite life saving efforts, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

    A 44 year old man is dead after being ejected from a vehicle late Sunday afternoon on the TCH near Cape Ray. Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP responded to the single vehicle crash and Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says despite life saving efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene. He says the driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. At the hospital, the woman was arrested and faces a charge of refusing to comply with a blood demand. She is set to appear in court on December 3rd. 

    As well,  Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP are investigating after a motor vehicle collision on Friday afternoon resulted in the death of one driver on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH). The incident involved a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a tractor trailer. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
