Older people are not only our parents, grandparents, neighbours, and friends; they are experts, advocates, and change-makers.

Yesterday was International Day of Older Persons and National Seniors Day. Older people are not only our parents, grandparents, neighbours, and friends; they are experts, advocates, and change-makers. The day reminds us that they have dreams that deserve to be heard, rights that must be protected, and contributions that strengthen our society. NL Seniors Advocate Susan Walsh says “Whether it’s building age-friendly communities, mentoring younger generations, or lending wisdom and resilience in times of challenge, older adults are leaders who inspire action close to home and across the globe.”
