Crisis hotlines in NL will share $700,000 in funding to be able to offer more support services for the urgent needs of those experiencing sexual and gender-based violence. Pam Parsons is the Minister for Women and Gender Equality. She says there are 2 crisis hotlines here now. She says they are provincial wide services. Parsons says there has been an increase in home based violence since covid. She says we all experienced shutdowns when we had to stay home but for those experiencing home based violence, home is no longer a safe place. Parsons says it isn’t an urban city approach but an entire province-wide approach to enhance services for those in need.
